

Teaching History through Pottery
This course is designed for educators who are looking for alternative ways to involve students in learning procedure as also educator's of children with learning disabilities to help their classroom induction.
In a world full of technology people forget to learn through their senses. In this course you will have the opportunity to discover the power of clay and use it as a tool in order to teach and understand your students better.
DAY TO DAY SCHEDULE
DAY 1
Getting to know each another: Ice-breaking activities
Lecture: Theories behind the importance of music making and drama techniques in classroom
Introduction to the subject
DAY 2
Visit and guided tour at a Pottery Workshop
Learning the process of making
Experimentation with clay through the use of hand building techniques
DAY 3
Theory behind the importance of using clay as a teaching method
Learning history through interactive ways of making
Understanding the environmental surroundings
NICOSIA BY NIGHT (Historical and cultural walk in the old town of Nicosia)
DAY 4
Visit to the Archaeological museum
Pottery workshop
DAY 5
Presentation of the work
