This course is designed for educators who teach music in primary schools and they want to gain further knowledge in music teaching or they want to empower themselves and feel more confident for music making in their daily routine.

COURSE VENUE: 

Nicosia, Cyprus. During the course there might be some visits in schools. The transportation expenses are included in the fees.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

• To experience the importance of music making 

• To learn practical techniques that can easily be applied in a group of primary shool students  

• To provide theoretical and empirical experiences in  Music Teaching according to the famous music pedagogues

• To enhance the Teacher's musicality that will empower them to use music in their daily routine

• To learn how a music lesson can be set up

• To create a network for future projects

METHODS:

A variety of methods will be implemented in order to give both theoretical and practical support to the teachers. The participants will have the opportunity to participate in lectures, workshops, team activities, case studies and visits to real classes in order to have an integrated training.

Day 1

• Ice- breaking activity

• Why Music is important (research reference)

• Famous Music pedagogues approach

Day 2

• Introduction to basic elements of Music

• Breathing and singing techniques

Day 3

• The Kodaly, Orff and Dalcroze approach in primary school

• Setting up Curriculums based on the development stages of children

Day 4

• Music Games

• How to set up a music class

• How to engage the students

Day 5

• How to set up a Music lesson

• Awards ceremony
