Nonformal Education

The defining characteristic of non-formal education is that it is an addition, alternative and/or a complement to formal education within the process of the lifelong learning of individuals. In this course we will explore nonformal education approaches that can enhance the lifelong learning of students.

COURSE VENUE:

Larnaca, Cyprus. Through the course, participants will have the opportunity to engage with various non-formal education settings, with transportation seamlessly integrated into the course fees.

 

OBJECTIVES:

• Embrace the versatility and effectiveness of non-formal education methodologies

• Equip educators with innovative strategies to integrate non-formal education approaches into their teaching practices

• Get a deeper understanding of approaches that promote active participation and engagement

• Promote inclusivity and diversity by tailoring educational experiences to meet the unique needs of every learner

METHODS:

Engage in a dynamic blend of experiential learning methods, combining theoretical insights with immersive practical experiences. Participants will participate in interactive workshops, experiential learning activities, group discussions, and hands-on projects, all aimed at deepening their understanding of non-formal education principles.

• Introduction to non-formal education principles and methodologies

• Individual needs and expectations assessment

• Ice-breaking activities

DAY 2

• Exploring the benefits of non-formal education: promoting active learning and participation

• Hands-on workshops on designing engaging non-formal education activities

DAY 3

• Case studies: successful implementations of non-formal education programs

• Guided visits to local non-formal education organizations

DAY 4

• Advanced strategies in non-formal education: inclusivity and diversity

• Collaborative project development: integrating non-formal education in various contexts

• Group presentations and peer feedback sessions

DAY 5

• Practical application: developing personalized non-formal education plans

• Reflection session: sharing insights and experiences

• Graduation ceremony and celebration of achievements
