BRINGING MINDFULLNESS IN THE CLASSROOM​

Mindfulness is a way of being into life. A way of being aware of your own feelings, thoughts, and actions and therefore a way to live your life by choice. Being a teacher means you are a person expected to inspire other people to learn and inevitably you are an important figure in your students’ lives .This program is designed for teachers who want to deepen the learning experience for both themselves and their students and transform their classroom into an environment of inspiration, calmness, shared experiences, continual learning and evolvement.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:​​

• Understand their thoughts and emotions better

•  Improve their communication with students

•  Understand and manage challenging students

•  Create a positive learning environment

•  Improve and reinforce their relationship with students

•  Learn to slow down when needed

•  Encourage cooperation and teamwork in the classroom

METHODS:

A variety of methods will be implemented in order to give both theoretical and practical support to the teachers. The participants will have the opportunity to participate in lectures, workshops, and team activities  in order to achieve an integrated training.

DAY TO DAY SCHEDULE:

Day 1

• Ice breaking activities

• Introduction to Mindfulness

• Mindful breathing exercises

Day 2

• Setting Intentions: Reflective activity on personal goals and intentions for integrating mindfulness into teaching practices

• Experiencing self awareness in a group

Day 3

• Mindful Listening and Communication: Techniques for improving listening skills and enhancing communication in the classroom

• Mindfulness in Discipline: Strategies for using mindfulness to manage classroom behavior and conflicts

Day 4

• Practical workshop: How can we apply the change

• Lecture: Mindful Teaching

• Mindfulness Resources

Day 5​

• Discussion 

• Feedback

• Award Ceremony
